Majid Bekkas


Majid Bekkas started his international career with his first album African Gnaoua Blues in Belgium and performed at Womex back in 2003. Since then he collaborated with artists like Archie Shepp, Joachim Kühn or Bassekou Kouyate. Constantly developing his sound concepts, Majid started two new projects which are available for live shows: The Afro Gnaoua Jazz Ensemble with Aly Keita, Childo Tomas & Marque Gilmore and his exciting Scandinavian Magic Spirit Quartet (CD release at ACT in 2020):   Majid Bekkas – Guembri, oud, Vocal //  Goran Kajfeš – Trompete //  Jesper Nordenström – keyboard // Stefan Pasborg – Drums. He is available for concerts in the following line-up: trad. Gnaoua Show (Layla), solo, trio and with different projects.
