Nneka

Nigeria

Nneka Egbuna was born in Warri, Nigeria, in 1981 and, at the age of 19, migrated to Hamburg with the intention of studying anthropology. Influenced by the remarkable musical legacies of Fela Kuti and Bob Marley, as well as contemporary US artists like Mos Def and Lauryn Hill, she also chose to pursue a career in music. Starting her musical journey in Hamburg, she went on to captivate the world with a musical mix of Neo Soul, Afrobeat, and Reggae. With her global hit "Heartbeat," she undeniably wrote a modern classic. Now, she returns with a new EP titled "Back and Forth."
